Brotherhood leader talks post-revolution strategy with young group cadres

Muslim Brotherhood (MB) General Guide Mohamed Badie has held meetings with some 200 young members of the group over the last two days to hear their views on MB strategy following Egypt's 25 January uprising, which led to the 11 February ouster of longstanding president Hosni Mubarak.

“Badie promised us that the group's bylaws would be amended,” said young MB member Mohamed Abdel Fattah. “He also said that he also plans to soon launch an MB newspaper and satellite channel.”

Abdel Fattah added that the general guide had told listeners that the MB’s planned "Freedom and Justice" political party would be administered independently of the group's traditional leadership.

For his part, young group member Kamal Samir Farag said the MB’s younger cadres were adamant about staging a "revolt" against  the group's authoritative Guidance Bureau–which is responsible for forging MB policy–on 17 March.
