Alexandria celebrates National Day with free museum and site entry

The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities announced on Thursday via Facebook that all archaeological sites and museums in Alexandria—including the Graeco-Roman Museum, the Royal Jewelry Museum, and the National Museum of Alexandria—will offer free admission to the public on July 24, in celebration of Alexandria Governorate’s National Day.

The move seeks to encourage domestic tourism and support tourist activity in Alexandria Governorate during the summer season.

In an official statement, the ministry clarified that Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Sherif Fathy, made this decision as part of Alexandria’s National Day festivities.

This initiative underscores the ministry’s commitment to participating in national, cultural, and local events, highlighting occasions that Egypt’s cultural and historical heritage.

It also aims to boost archaeological and tourism awareness among citizens, especially younger generations.

By offering free access, visitors can explore the city’s unique tourist, archaeological, and cultural attractions, and appreciate its status as one of Egypt’s most important coastal and historical tourism destinations.
