Azhar condemns burning of Quran by Israeli settlers

Al-Azhar Al-Sharif announced its strong condemnation of the burning of Holy Quran books by invading Israeli forces in southern Nablus, Palestine.

Azhar also condemned the attack on innocent Palestinians in several Palestinian villages in the West Bank, and the theft of their property, saying: “It is not surprising that these crimes were committed by this brutal colonial entity.”

Azhar said that Israel continues to commit crimes under the eyes and ears of the international community.

It lamented how the world is unable to deter, expose and halt Israel’s crimes, calling this unjustified complicity and a crime against humanity.

Azhar added that this “constitutes a flagrant violation of international law and all norms and covenants that stipulate respect for religious sanctities and guarantee freedom of worship.”

The institute stressed that the time has come to take a serious and unified Arab and Islamic position towards this terrorist entity that continues to commit the most heinous crimes against Palestinians.

It also stressed the need to take swift and binding measures to establish an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
