Banks to open accounts for free till end of March in celebration of International Women’s Day

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, banks will open accounts for free starting next week. 

The list of financial inclusion activities in countries of the world included celebrations for women from March 8 to 31, coinciding with International Women’s Day celebrations.

The services provided to customers include the opening bank accounts for free.

All that is needed is a copy of the national ID card and there will be no administrative expenses, or a minimum charge for opening the account.

The Central Bank identified six events for financial inclusion with the aim of spreading the banking culture and attracting new customers to the banking system.

These events include the Arab Day for Financial Inclusion in April, International Women’s Day in March, International Youth Day in August, Farmer Day in September, International Savings Day in October, and the International Day of Persons with Disabilities in December.

The Central Bank of Egypt announced a number of suggested activities:

Banks must do as part of financial inclusion activities, including joining banking events outside bank branches during these event periods and displaying appropriate banking products.
