Cairo authorities take action against Seeds International School over claims of sexual abuse

The Egyptian Ministry of Education and Technical Education has placed the Seeds International School in Cairo under its financial and administrative supervision, transferring full management to the ministry.

The ministry’s decision came after three school employees and a private security guard were accused of inappropriate conduct and alleged harassment.

The Cairo Prosecution’s office ordered the detention of the accused for four days pending investigations.

‘Unforgivable’

An Education Ministry statement indicated that all officials found to be involved in covering up or grossly neglecting the protection of students at the school have been referred to the legal department.

Minister of Education Mohamed Abdel-Latif stressed that any harm done to any child in any school is unforgivable, assuring that addressing it takes precedence over any educational matter.

He emphasized that preserving the dignity and safety of children is paramount to protecting the nation.

The mother of one of the victims revealed the shocking details behind the systematic sexual assaults that children at the school had endured over a long period.

According to her testimony, three workers and a private security guard at the school were involved in these assaults.

The mother said that the main suspect, whom five children identified, is a 60-year-old man who had even threatened the children with a knife.
