Christmas bazaar season

Christmas bazaar season is upon us! A time for sorting through nicknacks and treasures for the perfect Christmas-y gift, this year, organization after organization are taking advantage of the gift giving season to bazaar-ify their premises. Many of the bazaars listed below will be donating to charity in the spirit of the holiday. Mark your calendars and head for the nearest ATM because the shopping is about to begin.

TODAY – November 28 – CSA GARDEN BAZAAR
Pass by the Community Services Association any time before 2pm to sift through handicrafts and toys, bags and clothes – and get a head start on your gift shopping. Nok Nok furniture is also making its bazaar debut so pass by to make furniture orders.

NOVEMBER 1 – NOVEMBER 30 – WINTER COLLECTION @ Dar Gallery
Pick up winter clothes at the Dar Gallery Winter Collection exhibit that runs till Tuesday of this week. The collection features clothes from Nagada (in Dokki), NK and Baheya.

THURSDAY DECEMBER 2 – CHRISTMAS ART FAIR @ New President Hotel
For the third time, the New President Hotel in Zamalek is featuring local artists in their Christmas Art Fair. This year, 15 artists – including photographers, sculptors, painters and jewelry designers – are gathering together for a 3-day exhibition in the hotel’s main exhibition hall. For an artsy gift, head there next weekend!

FRIDAY DECEMBER 3 –  WINTER BAZAAR @ The Swiss Club
Dash to the Swiss Club Chistmas Bazaar next Friday, December third, anytime between 11am till 6pm for the first of the season’s full-fledged regular bazaars. Entrance costs only LE10, so you should have plenty of money left over for your little Christmas-y gifts. A choir will sing from 1:30pm till 2:30pm and Margret Lewerenz will tell stories for the following half hour. Take a picture with Santa Claus after 3pm, but if you want Santa to give your child a gift, you’ll have to call ahead and register.

SATURDAY DECEMBER 4 – EE CHRISTMAS CHARITY BAZAAR @ Conrad Hotel
The European Embassies are holding a Christmas Charity Bazaar in the main lobby of the Conrad Cairo Hotel this Saturday from 9:30am till 2pm. With an impressive array of raffle prizes, be sure to pick up a ticket for your own gift this year. Most items on sale will be culturally themed to accommodate participating European embassies. Sure to be an impressive spread!

FRIDAY DECEMBER 17 – FASHIONISTA CHRISTMAS BAZAAR @ Le Pacha Boat
Le Pacha will assemble vendors who do not sell elsewhere. Take the opportunity to find products – home accessories, women’s clothing, bags, make-up products, textiles, etc. – that are otherwise unavailable in the market. Each vendor is just starting out and you’ll be the first to catch their winter collections! An added plus – have lunch at one of the fabulous Le Pacha restaurants.

SATURDAY DECEMBER 18 – POUR ELLES FASHION EXHIBITION @ First Mall Four Seasons
Gather at the First Mall next Saturaday from 12pm to 9pm for a ‘Cairo to Lebanon’ fashion spread as well as a cocktail reception and cupcakes by Devour. Expect fancy beautiful stuff. From 12noon till 10pm, pass by the Intercontinental City Stars for an extraordinarily large Christmas bazaar on December 24th. For your last minute Christmas shopping needs, peruse an exhibition of everything from jewelry to books. If you are in need of some order in all the chaos of Christmas shopping, pass by the City Stars Mall for some sure fire choices.
