Cold front, heavy rain expected to hit Egypt on Friday

Egypt's National Weather Forecast Authority (NWFA) has predicted a cold front from Friday to Monday, with temperatures expected to fall by between 6 and 8 degrees centigrade.

“We can expect strong, cold winds from the north that will reduce visibility,” said NWFA Director Mohamed Mahmoud Eissa. “Sea navigation will also be affected, with waves reaching as high as four meters.”

Environment expert Ahmed Abdel Wahab, for his part, forecast torrential rains that could potentially result in property damage. He advised farmers to spray trees with anti-frost material and urged members of the public to stay at home in the evening.
