
The National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics (NRIAG) said it detected an earthquake 817 kilometers north of Marsa Matruh measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale on Monday, at 10:48:29 pm local time.
The institute has not received any reports of the earthquake being felt or any loss of life or property.
The NRIAG listed the following data for the earthquake; Latitude: 39.09 North, Longitude: 28.23 East, Depth: 12.90 km.
This coincides with other earthquakes off the Turkish coast, according to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Observatory.
