Egypt, Abu Dhabi Fund sign US$49 million loan deal for power plant

Egypt signed a loan agreement with Abu Dhabi Fund for Development worth 285 million Egyptian pounds (US$49.2 million) that will help finance a power station in Banha, the Energy and Electricity Ministry said on its website today.

The OPEC Fund for Development and the Kuwait-based Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development will also contribute to the financing of the 750-megawatt plant in addition to money by the state-run Central Delta Electricity Production Co.
