Egypt launches campaign to promote tourism during English Premier League

The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, represented by the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Activation, launched an advertising campaign to promote tourism to Egypt during the English Premier League matches.

The campaign promotes tourism to Egypt at the stadiums by placing advertisements of various Egyptian tourist destinations on panels, in addition to broadcasting campaign material on specialized and famous sports channels in the UK, such as Sky Sports and BT Sport, Amr al-Qady, CEO of the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Activation, explained.

He added that during this campaign, Sharm el-Sheikh city will be promoted using the UNCOP 27 which the city is scheduled to host in November, in addition to publishing ads for the slogan of the “Follow the Sun” campaign launched by the ministry in the main markets exporting tourism to Egypt during the winter season.

The aim of this campaign is to promote the Egyptian tourist destination, and to highlight its different and diverse tourist and archaeological patterns, products and components, in addition to promoting Egypt’s hosting of the COP 27 conference, and working to attract more tourists from various tourist markets, especially from the British market, which is one of the most important tourist markets for Egyptian tourism, Mohamed Mohsen, the tourism attaché at the Egyptian Tourist Office in London, said.

The campaign reflects the ministry’s keenness to benefit from major international events, including sports events and tournaments such as the English Premier League, to promote the Egyptian tourist destinations, as these tournaments attract millions of football fans and audience from different countries of the world.
