Egypt removes NDP related content in education curricula

The Egyptian Education Ministry, headed by Ahmed Gamal Eddin Moussa, will remove roughly 20 percent of educational material in Egypt's school curricula, ministry sources said on Tuesday.

The removals will come in each subject and all grades and will largely include content related to the former ruling National Democratic Party and its achievements, according to the sources.

The sources added that much of the excised material also concerns the subject of history.

In other news, the ministry insisted the repeated delay in the start of the second school term was due to events experienced during and after the 25 January revolution.

Moussa advised the excluded material be sent to the main administration of basic education in preparation for it to be relayed to educational directorates throughout Egypt.
