Egypt weather forecast signals temperature drop

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) issued a nationwide forecast for Thursday, pointing to a slight drop in temperatures across northern Egypt down to Greater Cairo and northern Upper Egypt.

Daytime conditions are expected to remain mild to warm across most regions, with higher temperatures persisting in southern Upper Egypt.

However, colder weather will prevail by the evening and into the early morning hours nationwide.

Weather officials issued a visibility alert for commuters, warning of dense morning fog between four am and nine am.

The fog is expected to impact major highways connecting northern coastal areas, Greater Cairo, the Canal Cities, central Sinai, and northern Upper Egypt, significantly reducing road visibility.

The EMA projects light to moderate rainfall over parts of the northern coast and Lower Egypt.

Showers may intensify into heavier localized downpours by Thursday evening along the northwestern coast and northern Delta regions.

Scattered light rain is also likely across the Canal Cities, with a slight chance of reaching parts of Greater Cairo and northern Upper Egypt.

Moderate wind activity—ranging between 30 and 35 km/h—will intermittently pick up over the northwestern coast, Lower Egypt, South Sinai, and the Red Sea governorate.
