Egyptian investments in Sudan amount to US$10.8 bn

Mossad al-Naggar, head of the Egyptian Commercial Office in Sudan, said there have been 229 investment projects in Sudan from 2000 to 2013 for a total value of US$10.8 billion in industry, agriculture and services.
 
He added that there are 315 Sudanese companies investing some $97 million in Egypt in industry, finance, services, agriculture, construction, tourism and telecommunications.
 
He also said that bilateral trade went up by 8.7 percent by the end of 2013 to reach $839 million against $772 million in 2012.
 
“Trade relations witnessed a remarkable growth in recent years, especially that both countries are members of the Greater Arab Free Trade Area and the COMESA,” he said.
