Egypt’s Investment Authority signs MoU with Polish Agency for Investment and Trade

The General Authority for Investment and Free Zones in Egypt and the Polish Agency for Investment and Trade in Poland signed a memorandum of understanding towards strengthening bilateral investment relations.

The President of Poland Andrzej Duda and Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly attended the signing ceremony during the sidelines of the Egyptian-Polish Economic Forum.

The CEO of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones, Mohamed Abdel-Wahab, said that the signing of the memorandum of understanding comes from the belief of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones in Egypt and the Polish Agency for Investment and Trade in Poland in strengthening bilateral relations and developing mutual cooperation towards investments between both nations.

The deal seeks to create a practical framework to enhance bilateral cooperation, sharing experiences in the business climate to help implement sustainable development goals while taking into account the national laws, regulations and procedures regulating the work method in state agencies in both Egypt and Poland.

Abdel-Wahab explained that under the memorandum of understanding, the two sides will encourage mutual investments and establish joint investment projects.

It will also encourage the exchange of delegations and visits of businessmen in order to identify the best practices and experiences of each party in the field of investment promotion.

The two sides will  jointly organize conferences and seminars to promote investment in both countries, and organize consensus meetings between businessmen and companies in order to enhance communication between the two sides.

In accordance with this memorandum, expertise and technical knowledge will be exchanged between the two parties to benefit from their experiences through the organization of training programmes, workshops, seminars and forums.

As well as the exchange of experts to provide their advisory services within the framework of specific projects and programs in several areas, including services provided to investors, investment opportunity maps, investment promotion activities, investment areas, and ways to settle investment disputes.
