UAE authorities confirmed on Friday that an Egyptian national has died following an incident at the Habshan gas facilities, caused by falling debris from an intercepted Iranian aerial attack.
According to a statement released by the Abu Dhabi Media Office (ADMO) via social media, the fatality occurred during the emergency evacuation of the site. The incident followed the successful interception of an incoming threat by UAE Air Defense systems. While the interception prevented a direct strike, falling fragments ignited two separate fires within the facility.
“Emergency response teams mobilized immediately to contain the situation,” the ADMO stated, confirming that both fires were brought under control with “speed and high efficiency.”
The statement further disclosed that four other individuals sustained minor injuries during the event. The injured include two Egyptian nationals and two Pakistani nationals, all of whom are reportedly receiving medical treatment. Authorities emphasized that the situation at the Habshan plant has been stabilized, though monitoring of the site continues.
