Hamas and Israel extend truce for an additional day

The official spokesperson for the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Majed al-Ansari, announced that Hamas and Israel have reached an agreement on Thursday to extend the humanitarian truce in the Gaza Strip for an additional day under the previous conditions, which stipulate a ceasefire and the entry of humanitarian aid.

In a statement to Qatar News Agency, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that efforts are intensifying to reach a permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

Hamas announced in a statement that, “It was agreed to extend the truce for a seventh day, Thursday.”

The Israeli army also announced on Thursday morning that this truce will continue as mediators work to extend it.

“The operational truce will continue in light of the efforts of the mediators to continue the process of releasing the hostages in accordance with the conditions previously agreed upon between the two parties,” the army said in a statement.
