The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced a massive escalation in its ongoing military campaign, launching a series of coordinated strikes against United States and Israeli strategic assets across the Gulf. This latest offensive utilized a sophisticated mix of next-generation ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and suicide drones.
Key targets and reported damage
Al Dhafra Air Base in UAE
The IRGC claims to have neutralized a high-tech early warning radar system. The strike reportedly destroyed maintenance hangars for advanced MQ-9 Reaper drones and a U-2 spy plane. Iranian officials linked this specific base to a recent tragic attack on a school in Minab that resulted in 165 civilian casualties.
Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait
Reports indicate heavy strikes involving ballistic and cruise missiles. Claimed damage includes the destruction of the base’s primary early warning radar, fuel storage facilities, and both active runways. Large plumes of smoke were reportedly visible throughout the surrounding region.
Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar
This strategic hub was subjected to two waves of “complex attacks” overnight. The IRGC asserts the total destruction of radar installations, air traffic control centers, satellite communications stations, and refueling infrastructure.
Strategic objectives
The IRGC framed these operations as a mandatory retaliatory mission following the deaths of high-ranking Iranian leadership and civilians. The statement emphasized that the Iranian armed forces are prepared to deploy further “decisive surprises” on the battlefield against what they characterize as hostile foreign intervention.
