Israel announces 18 soldiers killed in renewed Lebanon clashes

The Israeli army announced on Tuesday that 18 officers and soldiers have been killed and 910 others are wounded since the resumption of fighting in early March at southern Lebanon.

It noted that 190 officers and soldiers were wounded in the past two weeks alone, with 114 of the injuries described as moderate and 52 as serious.

These figures come amidst ongoing clashes on Lebanon’s southern border, and a continuing military escalation between Israel and Hezbollah.

The Israeli military announced on Sunday that it carried out over 85 strikes against Hezbollah targets in Southern Lebanon, including weapon depots, rocket launchers, and manufacturing sites.

This marks a significant escalation as both sides exchange accusations of violating the fragile ceasefire agreement.
