Israel army declares Jenin a closed military zone

The Israeli army has declared Jenin in the West Bank as a closed military zone after storming it and imposing a siege on its camp, the Palestinian Ma’an News Agency reported on Tuesday.

Clashes renewed between the Israeli occupation forces and Palestinians in the city and refugee camp of Jenin, and occupation bulldozers were observed destroying the road infrastructure there.

The Palestinian Red Crescent stated that “the Israeli occupation forces took a wounded Palestinian from inside an ambulance in Jenin,” and that the occupation forces closed the roads leading to three hospitals in the city.

The Wafa Agency reported that large forces from the occupation army, accompanied by bulldozers, stormed the city from several directions, raided several neighborhoods, deployed their snipers on the roofs of a number of high-rise buildings, imposed a siege on the Jenin camp from all sides, and arrested two young men – whose identities are not yet known – from inside a vehicle in the Khallet al-Soha neighborhood.

Occupation forces were stationed in front of the emergency entrance of Jenin Governmental Hospital in the vicinity of the hospital, and on the outskirts of Jenin camp, the report added, and raided the neighborhoods of Khallet al- Soha, al-Zahra, al-Hadaf, al-Jabriyat, and Sabah al-Khair suburb.

They also surrounded a house in the al-Hadaf neighborhood, amid a heightened amount of occupation drones.
