Israel intensifies its bombing of southern Gaza, as Salah al-Din axis turns into a battlefield

Israeli occupation authorities intensified their ground attack on the besieged southern Gaza Strip on Monday, while demanding Gazans in 20 areas in the center of the Strip evacuate.

The Palestinian National Council said that in two days, more than 14 massacres were committed, claiming the lives of over 580 citizens  – most of whom were women and children.

Israeli occupation army spokesperson, Avichay Adraee, said that the Salah al-Din axis between northern and southern Gaza is now a “battlefield”.

He added in his post on the “X” platform (formerly Twitter): “The fighting and military advance of the occupation army in Khan Yunis does not allow the movement of civilians through the Salah al-Din axis.”

The Lebanese border meanwhile witnessed mutual bombing between the Israeli occupation forces and Hezbollah.

Dozens of occupation tanks, troop carriers, and military bulldozers entered the south of the Gaza Strip, into the town of al-Qarara, north of Khan Yunis, according to eyewitnesses that spoke with Agence France-Presse.

Tanks also blocked the road between Khan Yunis and Deir al-Balah, in central Gaza.

Residents in the Gaza Strip said that artillery and warplane bombardment focused on Khan Yunis and Rafah in the south, while hospitals are facing extreme difficulty in dealing with the influx of wounded, according to Reuters.

A Khan Yunis resident, Ahmed Mustafa, said, “Everyone has been rushing to the streets running for their lives since the Israeli occupation dropped forced eviction leaflets over us. In our new displacement settlement here in the south, we do not know where to escape.”

One of these leaflets reads: “To Residents of al-Qarara, Khirbet al-Khuza’a and Bani Suhaila… You must evacuate immediately and go to the shelters in Rafah… Khan Yunis is a dangerous combat zone, leave it immediately.”

Hamas fights back

The al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Hamas movement, announced that it bombed Tel Aviv with a missile salvo.

It also confirmed that it targeted 10 Israeli vehicles in the eastern Gaza axis, while its fighters killed Israeli soldiers in the Sheikh Radwan area.
