Morsy’s family to request visit in detention

The family of Mohamed Morsy will submit a request on Thursday to visit the deposed president in detention, according to the Muslim Brotherhood's lawyer, Ali Kamal.

Kamal said on Wednesday that neither Morsy’s family nor his lawyers know his whereabouts.

He also questioned why the former president had not been transferred to a known facility, providing Morsy was ordered to be arrested by prosecutors pending investigations into charges of collaborating with Hamas during the 2011 revolution.

The request will be submitted to the investigation judge, Kamal stated.

Catherine Ashton, EU's foreign policy chief, met Morsy on Monday for around two hours, later refusing to give details about the meeting. However Ashton did say Morsy was in good health and being well-treated.
