NCW head: Sexual harassment bill tripped up by male MPs

Farkhonda Hassan, secretary-general of Egypt's National Council for Women (NCW), has accused male parliamentarians of obstructing proposed legislation against sexual harassment.

“I hope the female MPs who won in the recent elections will help revive this bill–and the many others like it that are currently gathering dust,” she said.

Hassan went on to express hope that incoming MPs would give greater attention to social and family matters rather than focusing exclusively on political issues.
