Palestinians stranded in Egypt return to Gaza Strip following truce

Palestinians stranded in Egypt began entering the Gaza Strip on Friday, in the first time since the beginning of Israel’s assault.

The Al-Qahera News Channel showed television footage of several Palestinians carrying their luggage as they left the Egyptian Rafah border crossing, heading back to the Gaza strip.

This comes in conjunction with the “humanitarian truce” in the Gaza Strip on Friday morning, after Israel’s aggression since October 7 on the besieged Strip which has killed 15,000 Palestinians, including 6,150 children and over 36,000 wounded.

Seventeen ambulances arrived on the Egyptian side of the Rafah crossing coming from the Gaza Strip and transported 20 injured people for treatment in Egypt, the Al-Qahera News Channel reported.

The temporary humanitarian truce began at seven am local time in Gaza, scheduled to last four days with a possible extension.

On its first day, the truce will witness the release of 13 detainees held by Hamas in Gaza, which includes women and children.

In return, 50 Hamas hostages will be released, divided over four days.

The release of detainees is scheduled to begin at four pm local time in Gaza. Up to 39 prisoners in the Israeli occupation prisons will be released on the first day.

The four day ceasefire will witness the release of 150 prisoners in the occupation prisons, most of whom are women and children.
