Police identify 20 suspects in assault on Arish police station

Police in Sinai have identified 20 suspects in the assault on the Arish police station last Friday, said North Sinai Security Director Saleh al-Masry on Sunday.

“We have requested the help of the armed forces to secure the region,” he said. “And we will check if the Camp David Agreement allows aerial surveillance.”

Masry explained that the assailants used 150 four-wheel-drive vehicles in the attack. “They were also planning to attack the Arish court and the Security Directorate,” he said.

North Sinai Governor Abdel Wahab Mabrouk claimed that Al-Qareda was behind the attack, attempting to destroy the revolution.

“We have put in place more stringent security measures to prevent similar attacks in the future,” he said.
