Serious truce talks under way between Israel and Hamas: here are the details

Israeli Channel 13 has revealed details about a proposed deal between Hamas and the Israeli occupation government, which includes the release of dozens of prisoners detained in Gaza, according to the Mubasher Pulse website.

The channel reported that the deal includes the release of between 30-40 hostages in exchange for the release of prominent prisoners, in addition to withdrawing from parts of the Gaza Strip.

The White House confirmed in press statements Wednesday, that negotiations for a humanitarian truce in the Gaza Strip and the release of detainees are “very serious.”

The Israeli Walla website revealed that Israel had presented Hamas, through mediators, a proposal for a truce lasting at least a week in exchange for the release of 40 Israeli detainees.

Hebrew media on Wednesday revealed that Israel is considering a long ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

Israeli Channel 12 reported that Benjamin Netanyahu’s government is considering a ceasefire in order to allow Hamas to “gather the kidnapped.”

Hamas, however, refuses to sit at the indirect negotiating table except with a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
