The Tamarod movement has called for the expulsion of U.S. ambassador to Egypt, Anne Patterson.
Tamarod leader Mohamed Abdel Aziz, speaking during a press conference Thursday called by national political forces to declare rallies in support of the Egyptian armed forces, said Patterson is not welcome in Egypt and should be expelled.
“The U.S. ambassador has surpassed her diplomatic role," he claimed. "She plays a pro-U.S. intelligence role in support of terrorism in Egypt."
Abdel Aziz added that Patterson had worked to return Egypt's former ruling group back to power at any price, pointing to the Muslim Brotherhood and its deposed president, Mohamed Morsy.
