Three army personnel killed in N. Sinai attack: sources

One army officer and two lower-ranking personnel were killed in an attack in Rafah, North Sinai on Saturday, BBC Arabic reported, quoting medical and security sources.
Egypt’s military has not made an announcement on the incident, the latest in a series of recurrent attacks that have targeted security forces in the restive peninsula since 2013 and have mostly been claimed by an Islamic State affiliate.
BBC Arabic did not explain the method by which the attack was carried out, but independent daily Al-Watan said a roadside bomb targeted the soldiers’ armored vehcile.
