Three bodies of vacationers recovered on Egypt’s North Coast

The River Rescue Forces, supported by volunteer divers in Alexandria, managed to recover the bodies of three drowned vacationers from the beaches of North Coast and Alexandria after they were swept away by the current on Sunday morning.

Meanwhile, rescuers are intensifying efforts to search for the body of another young man who drowned in al-Yasmeen Beach, west of Alexandria.

The leader of the al-Khair Divers team Ehab al-Malhi said that he had been notified of three drowning cases in the tourist villages of the North Coast.

Malhi said he called on the divers to go to the drowned places and the bodies were recovered.

The first body recovered was of a young man named Abu al-Hassan Hajjaj Youssef, 26 years old, residing in Luxor Governorate, he said, while the second reported victim was Ibrahim Tawfiq Mukhtar, 18 years old, at the village of Masr al-Gedida.

Another drowned body was recovered from the beach of Marseille village.

Yasmeen Beach, west of Alexandria, witnessed three other drowning cases in Sharqiya Governorate – two bodies were recovered, and the body of the third young man, Ibrahim Shaaban, is still being searched for.

The head of the Central Administration for Tourism and Resorts in Alexandria Mohamed Abdel-Razek, stressed that vacationers on all beaches should exercise caution, take precautions, and adhere to the instructions of rescuers, in order to preserve their safety.
