4 bombs in Cairo metro stations, at least 2 hurt

Four makeshift bombs exploded within minutes of each other at three Cairo metro stations during morning rush hour on Wednesday, wounding at least two people, police said.

The explosive devices were "very primary" and of "low intensity," a police official told AFP.

Militants have stepped up attacks in Egypt, mostly against security forces, since the army ousted Islamist president Mohamed Morsغ in July 2013 and the authorities launched a deadly crackdown on his supporters.

The blasts occurred at the stations of Shubra al-Kheima, Ghamra, Helmeyet al-Zaitoun and Hadayek al-Kobba.

Sources told Al-Masry Al-Youm that movement resumed normally on the two affected lines.
