US dollar rises to varied rates at Egypt’s banks

The US dollar exchange rate rose during Thursday's transactions, in the wake of a decline that lasted for more than three weeks starting February 2. Throughout last week's transactions, the rate fluctuated between increasing, declining or remaining stable. 

At the National Bank of Egypt (NBE), the purchasing rate rose to LE16.2, up from LE16 in the morning, while the selling rate increased more dramatically to LE16.30, up from LE16.1.

At Banque Misr, the purchasing rate recorded LE16.2, up from LE16, while the selling rate remained at LE16.3.  The purchasing rate at Banque du Caire reached LE16.1, up from LE16, and selling rate increased slightly to LE16.2, up from LE16.1

A larger increase was seen at the Arab African International Bank where the purchasing rate rose to LE16.22, up from LE16.07, while the selling rate reached LE16.32, up from LE16.17.

At the Commercial International Bank, the purchasing rate registered LE16.3, up from LE16.1 earlier; the selling rate was LE16.4, up from LE16.2.

At Al Baraka Bank, the purchasing rate reached LE16.3, up from LE16.1; the selling rate increased to LE16.4, up from LE16.2.

The purchasing rate at Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank was LE16.35, up from LE16.15 earlier, and the selling rate reached LE16.45, up from LE16.25.

At Bank of Alexandria also saw a more significant increase; the purchasing rate reached LE16.25, up from LE16, and the selling rate rose steeply to LE16.35, up from LE16.1.

At the National Bank of Greece, the purchasing rate recorded LE16.3, up from LE16.15, while the selling rate reached LE16.4, up from LE16.25.
