Khaled al-Guindi: There is a fierce atheistic attack on Islam

Islamic preacher Khaled al-Guindi told Al-Hayat satellite channel that Islam is under a fierce atheistic attack by the media under the pretext of facing extremism and renewing the religious discourse.

“A program host called the four Imams ‘four swindlers’, another called Ibn Taymiyyah a ‘serial killer’ and a third said the Islamic heritage is ‘rotten’,” he said. “We should not allow this.”

Meanwhile, members of the Salafi Nour Party filed a complaint with the prosecutor general accusing media personality Islam al-Beheiry of defaming the fundamentals of religion.

Also, Yasser al-Borhamy, vice president of the Salafi Dawah, called on President Sisi, the Al-Azhar grand sheikh and the prosecutor general to stop the repeated abuses against Islam in many television programs. “Beware God’s wrath,” he wrote on the website of the Salafi Dawah.

Borhamy warned that this would push the youth towards atheism. “By allowing this, you render the Constitution mere ink on paper,” he wrote.
