Bedouin broke into the office of the South Sinai governor, smashed the windows and sprayed fire extinguishers inside, suffocating the staff, of whom one fainted and was taken to the hospital.

Eyewitness said the Bedouins broke in when security tried to prevent them from meeting with the governor.

“The country is in a state of lawlessness,” said Salafi MP Abdel Halim al-Gammal, who was present in the office. “The president must reinstate order before all state institutions collapse.”

Also present was MP Gharib Hassan, who denounced the incident.

Army troops surrounded the building and strengthened security around it.
