Three people were killed and four injured when a three-story building collapsed in Masr al-Qadeema neighborhood, south of downtown Cairo, on Wednesday.
Approximately 15 families rented rooms in the building.
Rescue forces pulled the victims from the rubble after the collapse, which was reportedly caused by the explosion of a gas cylinder.
Such incidents are not uncommon in the country, which has seen a spate of recent building collapses that government officials have blamed on illegal construction. The deadliest such event claimed 28 lives in Alexandria when an apartment building caved in last week.
