Dozens blocked a highway in Daqahlia on Monday in protest against a police officer they claim killed a citizen. They set tires on fire and demanded the public prosecutor immediately open investigations into the incident.

A security source said that the victim was an ex-convict, and that his brother shot him in a fight. Central Security Forces intervened to reopen the highway, and began negotiations with the protesters.
