‘Revolutionary Punishment’ movement claims responsibility for Media Production City explosion

The “Revolutionary Punishment” movement, which is embraced by the Muslim Brotherhood, has claimed responsibility for the bombing of the two high voltage towers of the Egyptian Media Production City (EMPC) in Giza, which caused power outages and disrupted the broadcast of a number of television channels.

In a statement on the official page of the disbanded Freedom and Justice Party of the Muslim Brotherhood, the movement said the operation is a warning before destroying the country and shedding blood, hinting at television channels they say are against the opponents of the regime.

The statement also said that cutting electricity is not a substitute for cutting necks and tongues, and that all who back the regime, whether individuals or groups, will be punished.

“We announce a new phase of punishment based on a vision, strategic objectives, observations, surveys and analysis of information,” the statement added. “We will scare the living daylights out of you.”

“We have prepared ourselves for a long battle in which God will help us find you anywhere you hide,” the statement said. “The armed militias outside the Media Production City, who panicked last night when our heroes arrived, cannot prevent us from reaching you wherever you are.”

“We will double our response,” it said. “You are not far from our revolutionary punishment.”

The statement concluded: “We live in the hearts and consciences of the free and the honorable of this defiant nation. We will come out for you from the front and from the back. Drying the sea water is easier for you than eliminating us.”

Six IEDs exploded on Monday at the high voltage towers, four kilometers from the Media Production City.

Security forces found at least five other IEDs in the area that they diffused.
