Troops in Sinai arrest 11 suspects, 15 African immigrants

A joint force of Second Field Army troops, police and Central Security Forces have raided over 50 suspected extremist hotbeds in North Sinai, according to state media.
 
Fifty-five areas were raided by joint forces in villages close to Rafah, Sheikh Zuwayed and Arish.
 
Eleven suspects, including five Palestinians, were arrested during the raids. Ten vehicles and 15 unlicensed motobikes were also seized. Nine houses allegedly belonging to extremists' were destroyed.
 

Fifteen Africans, reportedly found without identity cards hiding out at a house in Rafah, were also apprehended. Authorities believe they were due to attempt to cross the border into Israel with the help of smugglers.
