Law Regulating Daylight Saving Time
The House of Representatives first approved the law with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi ratifying it on April 16, 2023, as part of the state’s efforts to rationalize electricity consumption.
Daylight saving time in Egypt begins on the last Friday of April and ends on the last Thursday of October.
The clocks are changed twice annually: once at the beginning of summer and once at the beginning of winter.
Daylight Saving Time End Date 2025
Daylight Saving Time began on Friday, April 25, which falls on the last Friday of the month. As the end of October approaches, citizens are wondering when they will return to winter time.
It has been decided that the last day of daylight saving time will be Thursday, October 30, followed immediately by winter time.
Beginning of Winter
Winter time is scheduled to begin in Egypt starting from the first second of Friday, October 31.
The clock will be set back a full 60 minutes, moving the clock from midnight to 11 pm.
Winter time’s implementation aims to maximize the use of natural daylight in the early morning hours, reducing reliance on electricity during the day, helping to bring down costs and better achieve effective electricity conservation.

Nearly 70 countries around the world implement daylight saving time to take advantage of the extra daylight hours and reduce electricity consumption.
Egypt is among the countries implementing this system, keeping pace with international efforts to rationalize energy and achieve greater efficiency in the daily use of resources.
