Egypt orders maximum readiness of its armed forces

Egyptian Defense Minister and the Commander-in-Chief of the Egyptian Armed Forces, Ashraf Salem Zaher ordered that the army raise its combat readiness to the highest levels, amid the escalating war between Iran and Israel.

Zaher inspected the Central Military Zone, where he reviewed the latest developments in units and formations, including air defense combat readiness systems and medical services.

He received a detailed briefing on the ongoing training and levels of readiness.

According to a statement from the army’s spokesperson, the minister called to maintain the highest levels of combat preparation and morale among the armed forces personnel, as the soldier is the cornerstone of military strength.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Egyptian Armed Forces emphasized the importance of continued research and monitoring to raise awareness of all rapidly evolving regional developments and their direct impact on Egyptian national security.

He expressed his deep appreciation for the efforts made to enhance vigilance, protect the borders, and safeguard Egyptian territory, directing that all necessary resources be provided to support the troops.

This emphasis on maintaining the highest level of readiness comes at a time of dangerous escalation in the region following direct confrontations between Iran and Israel, including extensive airstrikes and exchanges of missiles and drones.

This has led to renewed threats from the Iranian-backed Huthis in Yemen against shipping in the Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandeb Strait, with clear indications of new attacks on commercial vessels in response to the heightened Iranian-Israeli conflict.
