Sisi congratulates Christians, says Egypt will remain a model of coexistence

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi extended his congratulations to Egypt’s Coptic Christian citizens, emphasizing the deep national bonds and values ​​that unite the people of Egypt.

In his message, the President said: “I extend my sincere congratulations to Egypt’s Christian citizens on the occasion of the glorious Easter holiday, praying to God that it returns to our beloved Egypt and our Arab nation with more goodness and stability.”

“Egypt will always remain a model of national unity and fraternal coexistence, a supporter of our sister Arab nations, and a pillar of their security and stability.”

“May the people of Egypt and all peace-loving peoples be well and safe every year,” he concluded.

 

Easter Masses underway

Orthodox, Catholic, Evangelical, and Episcopal churches held Easter Masses on Saturday evening, amidst large public turnout and the presence of numerous officials and public figures.

They called for prayers for an end to wars and conflicts and for God to grant peace and blessings to Egypt.

Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark, led the Easter Mass at St. Mark’s Cathedral, saying, “We pray for peace to prevail and for our region to strive for development. We thank all those who offered their congratulations, and we pray that God protects our country, Egypt, and that it may always enjoy peace.”

The Patriarch of Alexandria for the Coptic Catholics and President of the Council of Catholic Patriarchs and Bishops in Egypt, Anba Ibrahim Isaac, presided over the Easter Mass at the Cathedral of the Virgin Mary in Nasr City.

And the head of the Evangelical Community in Egypt, Rev. Andrea Zaki, attended the official Easter celebration at the Evangelical Church in Heliopolis.
