Egyptian security forces arrested businessman Yahya al-Saedy on Monday, enforcing a court ruling sentencing him and his associates to two years imprisonment.
The sentence stems from their conviction in cases of trespassing and illegal seizure of land in 6th of October City.
Concurrent with the arrest, the relevant judicial authorities issued a series of orders which included freezing all Saedy’s bank accounts and assets until the legal situation is fully resolved.
It also involved placing his name on the travel ban and arrival watch lists at all air, sea, and land ports of entry to prevent any attempts to flee the country.
These measures followed investigations by the Public Prosecution revealing Saedy and others’ involvement in leading a scheme to forcibly seize a plot of land owned by a citizen, using intimidation tactics against the rightful landowners.
