Investment Ministry launches 2nd phase of promotional campaign for investment zones

Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade Mohamed Farid launched the second phase of its promotional and awareness campaign for investment zones.

Launched under the slogan “Investment Zones… Where the Elements of Success Come Together,” the campaign seeks to showcase successful investment models across governorates and highlight the role of the private sector in supporting economic growth, creating jobs, and increasing production, according to a statement by the ministry on Friday 19/6/2026.

The ministry shed light on the investment zone in Mit Ghamr, Daqahliya Governorate, as a successful model for local development and private sector empowerment, especially after it has attracted over LE 500 million worth of investments through 50 industrial projects, generating around 2,500 direct jobs.

The zone encompasses 107 industrial units with flexible spaces ranging from 144 to 576 square meters. Its activities span engineering, electronics, metal industries, and other productive sectors, helping meet the needs of various categories of investors and supporting industrial growth, the ministry noted.

Meanwhile, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Mohamed Farid said, “the success of the Mit Ghamr investment zone demonstrates the State’s approach to localizing development and empowering the private sector to drive economic growth through genuine reforms helping investors expand their business, increase production, and create more jobs.”

The ministry is working to replicate successful experiences across governorates and connect companies with Egypt’s commercial representation offices abroad to help open new export markets and integrate them into global value chains, Farid added.

Farid noted that the zone had achieved a high occupancy rate, while about 160 projects remain on the waiting list, which reflects investors’ confidence in the investment zones model and its ability to provide a business environment that stimulates growth and expansion.
