Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty reaffirmed on Monday, July 27, 2026, Egypt’s unwavering support for Sudan’s unity, sovereignty, territorial integrity and national institutions during a phone call on Monday with Sudanese Foreign Minister Mohi al-Din Salem.
Abdelatty also stressed the importance of neighboring countries respecting Sudan’s sovereignty and security.
The two ministers underscored their shared commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation across various fields, in line with the strategic nature of ties between the two countries and in a way that serves their mutual interests and enhances the close coordination between them.
The Egyptian Foreign Minister emphasized the importance of upholding the principle of Sudanese ownership of the political process and supporting efforts to restore stability and end the conflict, paving the way for a comprehensive political settlement that preserves Sudan’s sovereignty and fulfills the aspirations of its people for security, stability, and development.
Abdelatty also affirmed Egypt’s readiness, along with Egyptian companies, to contribute to Sudan’s reconstruction once the war ends and security and peace are restored, citing the strategic partnership between the two countries and the extensive expertise of Egyptian firms in construction and post-conflict reconstruction.
For his part, Salem expressed Sudan’s appreciation for Egypt’s support at all levels and praised Cairo’s consistent position backing Sudan’s unity and stability.
He also reviewed the Sudanese government’s efforts to address the current challenges, stressing the importance of maintaining close consultation with Egypt during the coming period in a manner that serves the interests of both countries and peoples.
He added that Sudan looks forward to broad Egyptian participation in its future reconstruction programs.
