
Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty held a telephone conversation on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, with US Special Envoy for the Middle Eas Steve Witkoff to discuss regional developments and efforts to reduce tensions.
The two officials exchanged assessments of the latest developments and stressed the importance of preventing further escalation and avoiding a broader regional conflict that could threaten security and stability and increase the humanitarian and economic impact of the ongoing crisis.
Abdelatty stressed the need to uphold the principles of good neighborliness, respect international law and preserve the sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of all states.
He also called for intensifying diplomatic efforts and pursuing political solutions to restore stability and reduce regional tensions.
The minister condemned all attacks targeting the Gulf states and Jordan, reaffirming Egypt’s firm rejection of any actions that undermine the sovereignty, security or stability of Arab countries.
