FM, WFP executive director discuss enhancing cooperation, humanitarian challenges in Africa

Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty met on Friday, July 31, 2026, with Acting Executive Director of the World Food Programme (WFP) Carl Skau to discuss ways of strengthening cooperation between Egypt and the UN agency.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Second Extraordinary Summit of Troop-Contributing Countries to the African Union Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM), currently being held in Kampala.

The two sides reviewed the latest developments on the humanitarian situation in a number of crisis-hit areas across Africa, as well as the WFP’s efforts to support food security and respond to growing humanitarian needs across the continent.
