A man drowned while trying to save his son from drowning in the Nile River in the city of al-Qanater al-Khayriya, Qalyubia Governorate, in a tragic incident that has plunged the residents of Qarnafil village into shock and sadness.
The child entered the Nile, and his father immediately jumped in to save him upon hearing his cries for help.
The son managed to survive by clinging to a piece of foam, but the father was swept away by the current and drowned.
Mourning residents affirmed that the deceased was known for his good character, and that news of his death came as a profound shock to his family, friends, and loved ones.
The village residents attended the funeral of the deceased after the noon prayer at al-Shahid Mosque in Qarnafil, before he was laid to rest in the family tomb.
