PM, Spanish firm discuss investment opportunities in renewable energy

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly met with Gonvarri Industries Chairman and CEO Jon Riberas to discuss the Spanish company’s potential investments in Egypt, particularly in automotive components, renewable energy, metal structures, and logistics.

Madbouly highlighted Egypt’s plans to expand renewable energy projects, especially solar and wind power, and stressed the country’s potential as a regional manufacturing and export hub serving Middle Eastern and African markets.

The meeting also explored establishing a major Gonvarri manufacturing facility in Egypt for automotive components, as well as partnerships with local investors. The company, which specializes in steel and aluminum processing, said it is studying several investment models and views Egypt as both a key market and a potential regional base.

The two sides agreed to continue discussions, with the government aiming to reach a concrete investment framework in the coming weeks.
