Katatny’s driver assaults airport employee

People's Assembly Speaker Saad al-Katatny's driver and two of his colleagues assaulted a Cairo airport employee on Thursday evening after he demanded that driver pay an entrance fee before the car could enter the gate.

Al-Masry Al-Youm quoted eyewitnesses as saying that three drivers employed at the People's Assembly assaulted Nabil Ibrahim, an employee at the company responsible for managing the airport parking lot, after he prevented them from entering.

State-run Al-Ahram reported on its website Friday that the driver refused to pay the entrance fee and then assaulted Ibrahim and broke part of the gate to enter.

According to Al-Ahram, a parliamentary delegation headed by Katatny headed to Entebbe on Thursday evening for a 5-day visit to Uganda to participate in the fall session of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, scheduled to begin Saturday in Kampala and end on 5 April.

The parliamentary delegation included Essam al-Erian, head of the Foreign Relations Committee and MPs Tarek Sebaq, Marianne Malak,  Amr Hamzawy, Ali Fateh al-Bab, Abdallah Badran, and Nour Party representative Ahmed Khalil.
