Acting US Ambassador Marc Sievers on Tuesday inspected the Tawfikia and Shubra Prep School polling stations and said the elections are democratic and went fine.
“The elections are unexpectedly democratic and there was a large turnout of women,” he told reporters on Tuesday.
“The turnout and enthusiasm I saw are evidence that the Egyptians want to move forward,” he added.
“It is difficult to predict stability right after the elections, but I think the economy will prosper soon,” he said, adding that he is optimistic about American investors investing in Egypt.
