Activists call to boycott parliamentary elections

A call to boycott the upcoming parliamentary elections scheduled to start 28 November was posted by activists on the Second Revolution of Anger Facebook page.

Statement number 37 on the page said the elections will be useless and only create chaos.

The statement said Kamal al-Ganzouri, appointed new prime minister by the Supreme Council of Armed Council (SCAF), did not meet with revolution youth coalition members as some press reports said. It said those who met with Ganzouri did not represent Tahrir Square.

"The sit-in will continue until power is handed over without negotiations," read the statement.

The SCAF lost its legitimacy after the blood of Egyptians was shed under its rule, it is no longer the legitimate ruler and must be tried, it added.
