Actor Omar Sharif dies aged 83

According to BBC news reports, the 83-year world-famous Egyptian actor Omar Sharif died in a Cairo hospital on Friday, after suffering a heart attack.
 
Earlier this year, his agent had confirmed that Sharif had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease.
 
Born in Alexandria in 1932, Sharif won international recognition and an Oscar nomination for his role in the 1962 film "Lawrence of Arabia." Recently, he also won the best actor Cesar, for his role in "Monsieur Ibrahim et Les Fleurs du Coran."
